As part of the project "Support to the Border Police in Haiti", in collaboration with the United States Embassy and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), 27 officers from the Haitian Border Police (PoliFront) were trained on combating human trafficking, child protection and gender equality. Let's continue to work together to support the most vulnerable on the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

In addition, UN Women-Haiti, with the financial support of the Embassy of Canada, facilitated a high-level training seminar for 21 PoliFront staff members to learn about the Convention on the Elimination of All forms of Discrimination against Women as well as the Inter-American Convention on the Prevention, Punishment and Eradication of Violence Against Women known as the "Beleme Do Para Convention". This training also enabled PoliFront officers to better understand the fundamental elements of the Haitian State's Gender Equality Policy and the National Plan to Combat Gender Violence.

Note that since the beginning of this project in 2018, more than 90 other agents of the PoliFront have already been trained.
