The inhabitants of the localities of Nan Donyen, Michel, Bois Neuf and Bois Leta had to walk more than an hour to find drinking water and some between 15 to 20 kilometers, while the international standard of access to the water is 500 meters, ie a 30-minute trip from the water point to its place of use.

Thanks to the new capture by the NGO "Food For the Poor", which feeds a tank of 4,000 gallons, from which water is pumped by a solar system to 2 water tanks of 1,600 gallons each, the inhabitants can now easily find water in the 5 kiosks connected to the system.

Note that this project is the result of a collaboration between "Food For the Poor," the Town Hall of Arcahaie and the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA).
