The daily number of gunshot wounds treated in hospitals is one indicator of insecurity in the country. Dr. Jessy Colimon Adrien, Executive Director at the Hospital of the State University of Haiti (HUEH), says the number of gunshot wounded victims treated at HUEH has been steadily increasing since February and spares no one. She claims to receive between 3 and 5 cases of gunshot wounds each day...
According to Adrien, the majority of patients who come mainly from the metropolitan area, are mostly citizens of any age, innocent collateral victims of violence...
