Following the forecast of the Hydro-meteorological Unit (UHM) of Haiti, announcing a wetter and more unstable weather, the Directorate of Civil Protection (DPC) wants to draw to the attention of the population in general and the inhabitants of the peninsula of south of Haiti particularly on the fact that rainy and stormy activities are expected on the country from Tuesday 17 September due to the passage of the 37th tropical wave on the Region.

According to these forecasts, it should also be noted that the weather will remain wet and unstable on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 September. Meanwhile, a new tropical wave is approaching the South of the country which explains the persistence of rainy and stormy activities throughout the week.

The DPC calls on the population to be cautious and to respect and apply the safety instructions in case of flood, landslide, etc... It asks the population to :

• Not to stay under the trees while it's raining;

• Do not cross flooded rivers;

• To place their important papers and affairs above the level that the waters could reach, or if possible upstairs.
