In its latest report released last week, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reports that 41 countries, including Haiti, still require external humanitarian assistance to cover their food needs.

Poor climatic conditions and civil or military unrest in these countries are the main causes of high levels of food insecurity, which severely affect the availability and access to food for millions of people.

List of 41 pats needing assistance :

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cape Verde, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, North Korea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Eritrea, Eswatini, Ethiopia, Guinea, Haiti, Iraq , Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Burma, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Uganda, Venezuela, Yemen and Zimbabwe.

Note that 31 of these 41 countries are on the African continent.
