iciHaiti - NOTICE : False calls for blood donations from the Haitian Red Cross
The National Society of the Haitian Red Cross has noted for some time that individuals under the guise of alleged organizations, launch on behalf of his name on social networks, public calls for blood donations for various patients. The Haitian Red Cross recalls that on December 31, 2018, the Ministry of Public Health decided to take charge of the National Center for Blood Transfusion (CNTS). As a result, the Haitian Red Cross (CRH) no longer assumes since that date any obligation regarding the management and operation of the CNTS.
The Haitian Red Cross, while encouraging altruistic and selfless initiatives that may encourage voluntary blood donation, recalls that, "in accordance with the relevant Geneva Conventions and the law on the emblem voted by the Haitian Parliament, any use or representation of the name and/or the symbol of the Red Cross by individuals or any organization without the prior written authorization of the Board of the institution constitutes a characteristic usurpation punishable by law."
