iciHaiti - Estère : Tractors donation to peasants

Following negotiations between the General Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior and Local Authorities (MICT) and the international NGO "Main Secourable", a memorandum of understanding was signed between Melchi Sedeck Legenus, representative of the NGO and Gustave Derilus Representative of the Artibonite Planters Association and a representative of the Town Hall of Estère, for the provision of agricultural equipment for the benefit of planters in this department to increase their productivity.

Through this agreement, a first donation of two tractors was made by the organization "Main Secourable" to the Ministry on behalf of the farmers of the commune of Estère.

According to this agreement, the tractors will have to be strictly assigned to the service of the peasants who are members of the Artibonite Planters Associations, under the supervision of the elected mayors, the councilors of the communal sections (CASEC), the councilors of the administration of the communal sections (ASEC) and City Delegates (DV)

The agreement specifies that farmers, members of associations are responsible for the maintenance and repair of tractors. However the NGO is in charge of the technical inspection of the tractors every 6 months or at the request of the Mayor, President of the committee of local elected officials.
