iciHaiti - PNH : Partial assessment of the PNH during the demonstrations
Thursday Chief Inspector Gary Desrosiers, deputy spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) during a press briefing gave a first partial assessment since September 16, covering the latest demonstrations.

For the metropolitan area : 29 arrests for looting, attempted looting, vandalism and disturbance of public order; 4 private vehicles burned and 2 vehicles of the PNH damaged; 4 individuals killed and four others wounded by bullet.

In the region, 38 people were arrested (29 were transferred to court) 5 people were wounded by bullets and 2 police offciers in Mirebalais and in the North. 4 other police officers were injured by stones thrown; 2 fire attempts and attempted vandalism at the college Espoir.

In addition, Gary Desrosiers explained that in order to prevent acts of looting, vandalism and violence during the call for national demonstration of the radical opposition scheduled for this Friday, September 27, several special units of the Police have been deployed in the 10 departments such as the Police Intervention Corps (CIMO), the Departmental Policing Unit (UDMO), the Motorized Intervention Brigade (BIM) and the Special Weapon And Tactics (SWAT).
