iciHaiti - Crisis : Humanitarian catastrophe in hospitals...
Friday, Dr. Franck Généus, President of the Association of Private Hospitals was alarmed by the situation of "humanitarian catastrophe" which strikes the hospital sector, collateral victim with the population, provoked by the daily violent demonstrations that paralyze many activities in the country and endanger the lives of patients.

He recalled that hospitals have serious problem of supply of medical products (drugs, blood, oxygen etc ...) because of the difficulties to circulate, adding that the hospitals also need fuel for the generators essential for the life of many patients who depend on equipment running on electricity in case of frequent failure of the city current...

He also mentioned the need to be able to transport patients and medical personnel, deploring attacks on ambulances and some hospitals targeted for law enforcement and informing the police, each time they receive a gunshot wound.

He calls on the State to set up a "humanitarian corridor" to allow the movement of medical staff and patients, the safe movement of ambulances and emergency supplies to hospitals.
