iciHaiti - DR : The departure of Minujusth raises concerns along the border
The announcement Tuesday of the end of the United Nations Support Mission (Minujusth) has caused great concern in some social, commercial, productive and economic sectors in Haiti, which is experiencing a serious political and institutional crisis for several months.

On the northern border of the Dominican Republic and in sectors similar to those of Haiti, it is estimated that the crisis in Haiti will worsen with the departure of the police force of Minujusth, which will have an impact in the Dominican Republic, especially on border populations.

During the five weeks of anti-government protests, trade between the two countries, and the bilateral weekly markets, suffered a considerable decline, which affected the economic actors of the two countries in a significant way and rendered the precarious economic situation even more precarious life of Haitian and Dominican border populations.
