iciHaiti - Diaspora : Invitation to the commemoration of the Battle of Vertières
The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in Brussels invites the Haitian community and friends of Haiti to the commemoration of the Battle of Vertières which will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2019, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Diplomatic Mission at 139 Chaussée de Charleroi, Saint-Gilles, 1060 Brussels.

To help the public better understand the scope of this historic epic, two experienced speakers will draw parallels between the Battle of Vertières and Waterloo : Dr. Eric Sauray, Doctor of Laws and Attorney at Barreua Val d'Oise, in France, and Professor Philipe Raxhon, professor at the University of Liège and member of the Waterloo Memorial, in Belgium.

The reception will begin from 3:00 pm. The conference will begin at 4:00 pm and will be followed by a question/answer session. Finally, the audience will have the opportunity to share together, in solidarity, a moment of conviviality around a snack.

The Embassy of Haiti hopes that you will come many to this event to salute the memory of the worthy compatriots who unveiled, in front of the world, the great resistance and the strong resilience of the Haitian people, since well before 1803.

Thank you kindly confirm your presence, no later than Friday, November 15, 2019, before 3pm, by email embassy@amb-haiti.be or by phone (+32) 2 640 60 80
