iciHaiti - Petit-Goâve : Tensions and relocation of anti-government resistance

Thursday, the Jubilee Zone nicknamed "Resistance Zone" which became the new focus of the mobilization against President Jovenel Moïse has experienced situations of tension. Sporadic gunfire and clashes between protesters and police were reported during the day.

Two youths, one resident at Jubilée and the other on Rue Lamarre, were shot and wounded during a police intervention attempting to unblock the road. Dany Tataille 25 years old received a projectile on the stomach and Pierre Jean Rémy 19 years old was hit on a buttock. This incident occurred while individuals were throwing stones and bottles against agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of the Order (UDMO). The two young victims were transported to Notre Dame Hospital.

They are young of Jubilée reinforced by other allies from Rue Benoît who lead the resistance. Young people use a new tactic, they force motorists to park across the street, for lack of tires, cars are used as barricades...
