Thursday, the gas station TOTAL in Ouanaminthe (Northeast) was the target of throwing rocks and broken bottles by angry consumers. The protesters accuse TOTAL of rationing the sale of fuel at the pump and supply at night with fuel of individuals who sell the precious liquid on the black market up to 500 gourdes per gallon of gasoline instead of 224 gourdes set by the State.

The security personnel of TOTAL Station, under the stones and unable to contain the crowd of violent protesters, asked for reinforcements to the National Police of Haiti (PNH) who sent on the spot agents of the Departmental Unit of Maintenance of Order (UDMO) who quickly took control of the situation and dispersed the crowd.
