On Tuesday, Mrs. Ermantide Lucia Joseph (84 years old), mother of the First Lady of the Republic Martine Moïse died as a result of a malaise. Admitted to a hospital in Port-de-Paix that was unable to provide the necessary care, she was transferred urgently to the Private Hospital Bernard Mevs in Port-au-Prince where she made her last sigh.

In a tweet published in Creole, the wife of the President wrote "Moso manman se yon moso ki chè. Ou banm lavi e pandan 45 lane ou kenbe menm poum rive kotem ye jodia. Ou montrem mache e ou edem leve lèm tonbe. Ou fèm yon fanm djanm tankouw. Jodia wale, mwen vlew konnen wap toujou gen premye plas nan kè nou tout. Que ton âme repose en Paix."
