iciHaiti - USA : $23M for a School Feeding Program
The US Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA) has provided $23 million over four years to the McGovern-Dole International Food and Nutrition Program. for Education.

This funding will benefit 100,000 Haitian students in 400 schools in the Nord, Nord-Est and Grand'Anse departments. The activities will end in 2023.

The McGovern-Dole International Diet Education and Child Nutrition Program helps support education, child development and food security in low-income countries around the world. The program provides for the donation of US agricultural products, as well as financial and technical assistance, to support school feeding and maternal and child nutrition projects.

The main objective of the McGovern-Dole program is to reduce hunger and improve literacy and primary education by providing school meals to boost school enrollment and academic performance.

At the same time, the program also focuses on improving the health and learning capacities of children before they enter school by providing nutrition programs for pregnant and lactating women, infants and children of preschool age. Sustainability is an important part of the McGovern-Dole program.
