Friday, December 20, Changeux Méhu, the President of the Association of Haitian Owners and Drivers (APCH), on a radio of the capital, drew a grim record of the acts of violence that hard hit public transport drivers victims of the crisis in 2019.

According to Méhu, in all 10 departments, at least 18 drivers were victims of the violence of the crisis, 8 died and 10 others were injured, several of them seriously. He also revealed that 66 vehicles had been set on fire by armed individuals and 154 others had been vandalized during this period of widespread insecurity which had lasted for many months in the country.

The President of the Association of Haitian Owners and Drivers (APCH), launched an appeal to the Government and to members of members of the National Commission for Disarmament, Dismantling and Reintegration (CNDDR), reactivated in March 2019 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27161-haiti-security-reactivation-of-the-disarmament-commission.html to stop these acts of banditry across the country and in particular in the metropolitan area, pleading for compensation for victims
