On Monday, the National Episcopal Justice and Peace Commission (Ce-Jilap) published a balance of the number of people killed in 7 communes of the West department since the beginning of the year.

At least 467 people, including 35 police officers, were killed, including 370 by bullets, lower figure than last year which was 815 dead.

Of the 467 victims, 235 were killed in the capital, 70 in Delmas, 32 in Tabarre, 32 in Pétion-ville, 31 in Croix-des-Bouquets, 25 in Carrefour and 22 in Cité Soleil.

Jocelyne Colas Noël, National Director of Ce-Jilap, informs that by January a global report will be published for the entire national territory.
