iciHaiti - Exhibition : «The Art Center : 75 years of plastic creation in Haiti»

The Art Center offers a new exhibition entitled "The Art Center : 75 years of plastic creation in Haiti", composed of an exceptional selection of works of art among the 5,000 or so that make up its collection, and precious archive documents, which were saved from the rubble of his building, which was completely destroyed during the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

Women and men have been working for 10 years now to protect and restore this rich heritage which has testified to the reality of plastic creation in Haiti for 75 years. From Hector Hyppolite to Tessa Mars, via Franck Louissaint, Frantz Zéphirin, Préfete Duffaut, Luce Turnier, Lionel Saint Eloi, Salnave Philippe Auguste, Gabriel Bien-Aimé, Serge Jolimeau, Jorelus Joseph, Jasmin Joseph and many others, the list of artists who have made and continue to make the Art Center is long and prestigious.

"The Art Center : 75 years of plastic creation in Haiti" is a rare heritage exhibition, offered from January 15 to 25, 2020, which also presents precious archive documents from the Center, notably around personalities who have made its reputation including Dewitt Peters and Francine Murat, André Breton, Gérald Bloncourt, Truman Capote, Jean-Paul Sartre...

January 12, 2020, 75 years after its creation and 10 years after the 2010 earthquake, the Art Center is still there, alive, pursuing its daily mission : to support plastic creation in Haiti, promote it, disseminate it and keep it.
