iciHaiti - Insecurity : MSF could suspend its activities in certain neighborhoods 02/02/2020 08:26:20
Hassan Issa, the head of mission for the international organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF-France), in Haiti for 30 years, this week issued a cry of alarm and announced that due to insecurity, MSF could be forced to suspend its activities in several neighborhoodsof Port-au-Prince, explaining "[...] In the space of a few weeks and in recent days in particular, our teams and our patients have suffered threats from aggressive individuals inside the health structures or during their passage by ambulance; our premises and vehicles were the target of gravel; threats have been made against our staff by people wishing to be recruited.é "If the conditions are not met, it will become difficult for us to continue to guarantee access to healthcare in certain neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince or certain areas of the country" warns Hassan Issa who calls the armed groups, the demonstrators, the forces and everyone to respect the safety and protection of medical staff, hospital structures and ambulances.
