The "Konpa Danse Challenge" (KDC) competition was officially launched on Tuesday during the recording of the first television program. Stéphanie Saint Louis, the Director of Artistic and Literary Creation who represented the Minister of Culture Jean Michel Lapin at the Ceremony, was delighted with this opportunity that the institution offers to young people from the 10 departments to prove their talent for dancer thanks to this National competition.

For Saint Louis, "The konpa is a unifier. This rhythm has made souls and bodies vibrate for more than 10 decades [...] the participation of the Ministry in this project, initiated by 'Ayitidans', aims to complement the hard work of the Ministry around the promotion of konpa, classified as an element of national heritage and which appears as a priority in the strategic plan of public policies of the Ministry."

According to Saint Louis, the Ministry is finalizing its action plan in favor of music in general and the compas in particular, "question of allowing the konpa dance to finally find its full development and to the creators to make a living from their talents and their productions."
