In a press release, the organization of the Civil Society "Kri Fanm Ayiti" (KRIFA) is indignant that after the period of "country lock" during which all the sectors of the national life were paralyzed, the country knows today today a sharp increase in insecurity, notably due to the multiplication of kidnapping cases in the metropolitan area.

"KRIFA condemns the carelessness of the State which tends towards a form of indulgence to repress these odious crimes committed against the sons and daughters of the Fatherland" and calls on the authorities concerned to track down these individuals who spread terror and place them behind bars.

The Organization recalls that "guaranteeing the security of fellow citizens is part of the sovereign functions of the State and that the Haitian Constitution as well as the other treaties ratified by Haiti oblige it to guarantee the right to security of nationals and foreigners who find themselves on its territory."
