"Despite the incidents that occurred yesterday at the Champ-de-Mars, arrangements will be made for the holding of carnival, which is a tradition that figures in the calendars of major national holidays. The State will face its responsibilities [...] The various dates chosen for the carnival, namely from Sunday 23 to Tuesday 25 February, are maintained as planned [...] Security measures will be taken to allow the reconstruction of the stands burnt at avenue of the République." According to Lapin the National Carnival this year will require between 80 million to 100 million Gourdes. PI/ iciHaiti
