iciHaiti - Installation : The new Minister of Tourism a.i intends to revive the sector

Thursday, Pierre Josué Agenor Cadet the Minister of National Education, in the presence in particular of Raina Forbin, President of the Tourist Association of Haiti (ATH), of Gary Verdilus, Chief Commissioner of the Tourist Police (PoliTour) proceeded to the installation of Marie Giselhaine Mompremier as new Minister a.i. of Tourism and Creative Industries. She replaces Edmond Bocchit who assumed this interim function.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mompremier announced that the Moïse-Jouthe administration intended to revive tourism with a view to revitalizing the national economy.

In order to carry out her mission, Minister Mompremier said she relies on the collaboration of all employees and that of other departments concerned, to reposition the image of Haiti on the international map, evoking as such prowess achieved by the former Minister of tourism under Martelly, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin.

Referring to the importance of the 350 years of the city of Cap-Haitien and the 200 years of the death of King Henry Christophe, she promised to work tirelessly to raise the profile of Cap-Haitien in particular and of Haiti in general.

For his part, Minister Cadet called for the establishment of a climate of security and serenity in the country for the benefit of the tourism sector.
