iciHaiti - Covid-19 : An Industry Group donates $500,000 in supplies
Several industrialists (Acierie d'Haïti, Total&Sol, the cement manufacturer Kolos, the agro-food and sanitary industrialist Huileries Haitiennes (HUHSA), the Lafito Industrial Free Zone and Port Lafito, have joined forces to support the national effort against coronavirus Covid-19 aims to save lives by donating supplies estimated at nearly $500,000.

"In accordance with the strategy to combat Covid-19 established by the public authorities and in a context of great rarity, the group of companies donates 5,000 Xpert Xpress SARS-CoV-2 test kits used to detect the Coronavirus Covid-19 (approved by the FDA Food and Drug Administration) which will be delivered to the National Public Health Laboratory in the fortnight. In addition to these tests, the Group donates more than one million bars of soap (Banda) in order to strengthen the national handwashing campaign across the National territory. This donation, which began more than two weeks ago, is carried out on the one hand, through the commercial distribution channels of the various companies both in the capital and in the most remote areas of the country, and on the other hand, through targeted organizations such as certain community, religious and social associations."
