Dr. Patrick Dely, Director of the Laboratory and Research Epidemiology Department (DELR) confirmed this week that a DELR computer scientist had tested positive for Covid-19 at his workplace.

According to the information available to us, this technician was not in contact with the Covid19 sampling and investigation teams and was probably contaminated in his community.

Following the discovery of this case, isolation measures were taken at the DELR to quickly ensure the care of the patient. The workspaces were decontaminated and the direct and immediate contacts of this employee were identified and quarantined.

Note that the DELR continues to operate normally and its staff are not in quarantine.
