Since May 7 in Pétion-ville, more than fifteen women-leaders, engaged in a citizen fight against the spread of the coronavirus Covid-19, have distributed nearly 10,000 masks in order to protect the population in the localities of Thomassin, Soisson, Cazeau, Madeleine, Tête de l'Eau, Aux Cadets, Étang du Jonc, Bellevue Chardonière. Protective masks have been distributed to Bout Champagne, Gabriel, Pyron, Laboule 10, Pèlerin, Morne Lazare, Jacquet Tybule, Jacquet Toto, Meyotte, Pernier 40, Girardot, Nan Lindor among others…

Small mercgants, motorcycle taxi drivers in the Pétion-ville neighborhoods also benefited.

The awareness campaign and community distribution of protective masks continues in the community markets of the metropolitan region of Port-au-Prince and in the various municipal sections, especially since the wearing of masks in public places has become compulsory since on May 11th across the national territory.
