Human rights organizations have reported that 133 detainees from Jacmel Prison (Southeast Dept.) have symptoms similar to those of Covid-19 for about 3 days accompanied by a persistent headache. However, the prison authorities claim to have put in place measures to prevent the possible spread of Covid-19 while awaiting screening samples...

Remember that the prison houses more than 500 detainees and several of them suffer from other illnesses (asthma, tuberculosis, malnutrition, AIDS...).

Recall that at the national penitentiary, the authorities confirmed 11 positive cases of Covid-19. The patients were placed in isolation in an old center fitted out for cholera and fitted out for the occasion. According to Noël Charles Nazaire, the Director of Prison Administration "there are no prisoners who died of Covid-19 either in Port-au-Prince or in other prison centers across the country" in order to end the rumors suggesting otherwise...
