The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Stop Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the week of July 27 to August 2, 2020, 35 road accidents on the national territory (+ 9.3%) compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-31391-icihaiti-road-safety-particularly-murderous-week.html made at least 77 victims (-2.96%): 12 dead (-20%) and 65 injured (-1.5%) including several seriously.

Third of the accidents occured on National Road Number 3 (RN3) and Delmas. Most of the accidents occurred at Puits Blain 22, Delmas 32, Morne à Cabrit, Chalon, Delmas 2, Morne Blanc, Grand-Goâve, Aquin, Cabaret, Gros Mornes among others, are the main communes and zones where these accidents were recorded.

Remember that this weekly report was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross. However, due to lack of resources STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents, reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen preventive measures and to set up a systematic vehicle inspection service.
