Thanks to a donation of 17 solar-powered hydraulic pumps from Taiwan (Republic of China) and 8 others from the Indian Government, the Ministry of the Environment is installing and commissioning several water pumping systems through various departments of the country.

For this beginning of August, it is in Lasserre (commune of Croix-des-Bouquets) that the technicians of the Ministry are hard at work with a view to installing a pumping system. If in the West department the communes of Croix-des Bouquets and Cité Soleil must benefit from 7 of these solar systems, it is planned by the end of September to install the others in the departments of the North, North-East, Artibonite, Nippes and South.

The installation of these solar-powered hydraulic pumps will not only help protect the environment, but also promote the development of natural resources and improve the living conditions of the population.

With additional funding from Taiwan, Environment Minister Abner Septembre announces the upcoming installation of 83 more new solar pumps nationwide.
