Soinette Désir, the Secretary of State for the Integration of People with Disabilities (BSEIPH), on Tuesday, October 27, presented subsidy checks to more than 30 disabled people including victims of the fire at Camp Lapiste last May https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-30872-haiti-news-zapping.html

With a total envelope of around 420,000 Gourdes from the Public Treasury, this assistance will allow beneficiaries to meet certain personal needs or to launch small income-generating activities.

Today, the emphasis is on the relocation of several families of disabled people who sometimes find themselves in insecure situations at the Lapiste camp and the Government has already made land available to BSEIPH. The Secretary of State reassured the disabled population and reiterated the commitment of the Government and BSEIPH in particular to continue to support people with disabilities through grants for the current fiscal year.
