iciHaiti - Religion : Bishop Eugene Nugent, Representative of Pope Francis leaves Haiti

On February 3, 2021, Chancellor Claude Joseph received the Apostolic Nuncio, Bishop Eugene Nugent, at the end of his mission in Haiti, to bid him farewell "Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Monsignor Eugene Nugent is a very great friend of Haiti" adding "[...] He has represented the Holy Father there since 2015 [...] His departure will leave a void in the diplomatic community. I wish him every success in his next assignment."
Claude Joseph then met religious leaders with a view to continuing efforts to harmonize relations between the State and this sector. "I took the opportunity to encourage their involvement in major government projects : the constitutional referendum and the elections of 2021."
