Monday March 8, the Communication Unit of the City of Cap-Haitien, informed that the passage of a cold front over Haiti with humid winds in the North and North-East massif, in that of the Hotte and the presence of an upper trough could cause heavy rains in several departments for the next 72 hours.
The Communication Unit added that there was a risk of flooding in the North and North-East due to continuous and persistent forecast rains expected in municipalities in the region.
In relation to these possible rainy and stormy activities during the passage of this frontal system over Haiti, the Meteorological Forecasting Center of the Hydro Meteorological Unit of Haiti in concert with the General Directorate of Civil Protection and the SPGRD reminds the population of the areas At risk of flooding, landslides and landslides, remain vigilant and respect the usual safety instructions in the event of heavy stormy rains which could cause flash floods (sudden floods) in places and at times.
