iciHaiti - Savane Diane : The Stevia Agro Industrie project could generate more than 20,000 direct jobs
The Stevia Agro Industry Project in the new Export Processing Zone in the community of Savane Diane (Dept. Artibonite), https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-33004-haiti-agriculture-new-agro-industrial-export-free-zone.html is an ambitious $250 million project... with positive spinoffs for the country, according to Clifford Apaid.

The businessman explained to Hinche, during the presentation of this project of 250 million dollars of which 8 million have already been invested, that it would "[...] generate more than 20,000 direct jobs, without taking into account the indirect jobs" adding "such a project will help fight the exodus of Haitians to the Dominican Republic."

"On the 32,000 hectares of land of Savane Diane, the Apaid family, through Stevia Agro Industrie, has great ambitions. This area, extending over three departments, is devoted to agro-industry. Cassava, sugar cane, avocado and Stevia will be the main crops for the company," says Apaid Clifford.
