iciHaiti - BLTS : Seizure of more than 2 tons of marijuana

On Sunday May 16, 2021, officers from the Office for the Fight against Narcotics Trafficking (BLTS) intercepted during a check two vehicles following each other 300 meters²²²²²² away and heading towards Port-au-Prince.

The occupants of the first vehicle a Toyota, model 4 Runner registered TQ 29882 got out of the vehicle and opened fire on the BLTS officers before fleeing while the occupants of the second vehicle of the same make and model registered TP 89941 did not not waited for the arrival of the agents to flee by abandoning their vehicle.

While searching the first vehicle, officers discovered 967.2 kg of marijuana (cannabis sativa) concealed in several white plastic bags and in the second 1.116 kg of marijuana. Vehicles and drugs were seized.
