iciHaiti - Football : AS Cavaly crowned champion at the Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship 2021

Tuesday 25 May as part of the Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship 2021, Cavaly AS of Léogâne faced on the lawn of the Sylvio Cator Stadium in Port-au-Prince Inter Moengo Tapoe, the 3rd most successful club in Suriname (Sacred to ten times champion of Suriname). Despite their best efforts, Suriname had to bow [3-0] to a domineering Cavaly.

From the kickoff, the red horse took matters into his own hands, stepping up assaults against the Surinamese until he found the opening with a shot from Monuma Constant Junior in the 29’ [1-0]. The Surinamese tried to repend without success changing the score in the first period.

Back from the locker room, AS Cavaly accelerated the pace from the restart, sinking the score with a goal from Gamael Dorvil in the 47' [2-0] before knocking out an opponent unable to react, by a double in the 76' [3-0] qualifying directly for the next edition of the Concacaf Champions League.

Reacting to the performance of AS Cavaly crowned champion at the Flow Concacaf Caribbean Club Championship 2021 Carlo Marcelin, Secretary General of the Haitian Football Federation declared "[...] this victory remains a sign of the rise of Haitian football in the Confederation despite all the difficulties facing the country in recent days. AS Cavaly has been able to raise and make the Haitian flag shine on Dominican soil at the cost of superhuman efforts and enormous sacrifices to raise football and the two-tone high in the eyes of lovers of this beautiful game around the world.

After all, the history of Haitian football will remember the names of these brave players, leaders, staff and supporters who helped achieve this feat in these difficult times that Haiti is going through.

Congratulations to the Cavaly AS team and continued success."
