iciHaiti - DR : Reinforced security at the Ouanaminthe-Dajabón border bridge

Following the border incidents that occurred on June 7 in Ouanaminthe, where one person died and 7 others were injured during a demonstration against the closure of the binational market https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-33921-haiti-ouanaminthe-violent-incident-at-the-border.html violently repressed by the Border Police (PoliFront) a specialized unit of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and widely broadcasted by video on the internet; the Dominican and Haitian authorities have reinforced security at the Ouanaminthe-Dajabón border bridge.
The military authorities of the Specialized Land Border Security Corps (CESFRONT) in collaboration with the Haitian Border Police (PoliFront) have regained control of the border post and the entire border area.
Since Tuesday, calm had returned and the movement of people and trucks has been restored on the bridge that connects the two countries.
