iciHaiti - Insecurity : Gangs block access to oil terminals

There is no scarcity of fuel, said Fils-Aimé Ignace Saint-Fleur, the Director General of the Office for the Monetization of Development Assistance Programs (BMPAD), who claims that more than 200,000 barrels of gasoline and 45,000 barrels of diesel were delivered to the Thor terminal to meet local demand.

However, he stresses that it is extremely difficult if not impossible because of armed conflicts to gain access to fuel tanks, as G9 gangs surround these two oil terminals, but also factories and ports...

He explains that on Thursday it was impossible to gain access to the Varreux oil terminal because the area was barricaded and under the control of heavily armed hooded individuals.
