Friday June 25, 2021, as part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Haitian State and the State University of Haiti (UEH) on May 17, 2018 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-24416-haiti-politic-the-state-undertakes-to-provide-the-necessary-means-for-the-development-of-the-ueh.html , Jean Walnard Dorneval the Minister of Defense, and Fritz Deshommes, Rector of the UEH proceeded in the premises of the Ministry of Defense, to the signature of a MoU relating to the establishment of a partnership between the Ministry of Defense and the UEH for the creation of a Pole of Research in Science and Technological Innovations (PORSIT).

This research center aims, in particular, to develop scientific and research activities and to integrate the global movement of technological innovations that can help the Ministry of Defense to properly fulfill the various missions assigned to it by law.

According to the terms of the Memorandum, the PORSIT will work in close collaboration with the UEH, which, in its three-dimensional mission of training, research and services to the community, is called upon to meet the social demand for progress, modernization , research and technological innovations. In this sense, the UEH, through researchers, specialists in experimental sciences, will collaborate in the various research and development programs defined by PORSIT, such as in matters of safety and environmental protection.
