During the 21st Meeting of Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), José Julio Gómez the Vice-Minister of Bicameral Foreign Policy of the Dominican Republic in his virtual intervention, adresseing the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of CELAC member countries declared that "the Dominican Republic, with an absolute sense of solidarity, considers it necessary that the situation in Haiti be placed on the list of priorities of the agenda of the international community."

Recalling "as the Minister of Foreign Affairs Roberto Álvarez said there does not exist and there will never be a Dominican solution to the Haitian problem [...] this is why we ask Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Latin America and the Caribbean to include Haiti among the priorities of their foreign policy agenda, so that the international community can play its role in supporting our Haitian neighbors."
