President Luis Abinader warned that the serious political, economic and institutional crisis that is shaking Haiti "generates a danger for the region and in particular for the Dominican Republic".

Faced with this situation, the Dominican President called on the international community, and in particular the Government of the United States, to contribute to the establishment of a broad, inclusive, sustained and good faith political dialogue in the neighboring country. Abinader observed that the levels of violence prevailing in Haiti "are of such magnitude" that they "go beyond any authority and require action by the international community".
