The Technical Operation Center (CTE) for drinking water in Ouanaminthe is starting to use a new mobile application to record water meter readings.

This application was developed as part of the Water and Sanitation Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti) in accordance with the Custom Customer Database System that was developed for Haitian CTEs.

Now, three technicians, using the mobile app, can perform water metering and data entry in Ouanaminthe in just 10 days, a process that previously took four to six weeks.

This initiative contributes to strengthening the governance of the sector by increasing the capacity of local water services to manage water resources and therefore improve the quality of public services.

Ultimately, this initiative will be rolled out in all of Haiti’s major cities.
