iciHaiti - Post-Earthquake : The Art Center comes to the aid of the artistic community
In response to the 7.2 on the Richter scale earthquake, which devastated the southern region of Haiti on August 14, the Art Center announces that it has just launched an emergency project to help to the artistic community seriously affected by this disaster where enormous material losses were noted : cultural centers, artisan workshops, artists' studios and many works were destroyed or severely damaged.

This project consists of financial support to more than 20 artists and families of artists and craftsmen, thanks to a generous donation of 30,000 US dollars from the Hillman Talbot Foundation based in the United States through "Ayiti Demen". The aim is to enable beneficiaries to restart their income-generating artistic activities in the medium term.

It should be remembered that the Art Center mobilized on the very day of the earthquake and established contact with communities of artists and craftspeople in the disaster areas in order to assess certain urgent needs and anticipate the best way to support them. This cash transfer program is a crucial first step in this direction. The Art Center will continue its search for support to support artists from the great South, in particular in their creative work.
