Earlier this week Wilson Gómez Ramírez, President of the Dominican Duarte Institute questioned on the situation in Haiti replied that it was "necessary" that the international community make an effort and help Haiti, respecting its sovereignty, stressing that the situation "of instability, lack of control and authority" in Haiti poses a threat to the Dominican Republic.

"Everyone is waiting for what ? That the Dominican Republic be forced to adopt extreme measures to preserve its territorial scope ?" he wondered.

Recall that at the last United Nations General Assembly, President Luis Abinader asked the international community for an economic and social development plan for Haiti.

Wilson Gómez said it was necessary to speed up the construction of the technological double border fence "So that there are important checkpoints and other points that will be controlled by the military."
