iciHaiti - MUPANAH : Inventory of historical documents of the Museum

In agreement with the General Directorate of the Haitian National Pantheon Museum (MUPANAH), Professor Daniel Supplice has been carrying out since November 2020, the inventory of historical documents, manuscripts and printed matter, which are part of the museum's collections.

He has already inventoried since the beginning of his work with passion and rigor, more than 1,600 original documents dating from the 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

In addition to the inventory, certain information relating to these documents is highlighted through their cataloging : the dates, the subjects covered and the people concerned. Indexing will define the methodological bases aimed at facilitating the digitization of the museum's documentary fund, to make it accessible to researchers and to satisfy the curiosity of the general public.

Since his installation at the head of MUPANAH, as Director General, Jean Claude Legagneur has set himself the objective of digitizing the historical documents of the museum. The inventory, cataloging and indexing of this fund pave the way towards achieving this goal.
