iciHaiti - The order of Saint Faustin : Did you know ?

"The imperial and military order of Saint Faustin was created by imperial decree on September 21, 1849, as well as the civil order of the Legion of Honor.

The decoration of this order consists of an eight-pointed silver star in a double-armed ball. The arms being alternately in blue and garnet enamel resting on a garland of green laurel and surmounted on the upper part by an imperial crown in gold. In the center, on a blue background is a crowned golden eagle standing on two crossed cannons encircled by a red band and this motto : God, my country and my sword ; at the bottom, three small golden stars.

On the reverse, a medallion edged with gold; in the center is the emperor's head turned to the right and encircled by a band of red enamel with this caption: Faustin 1st, Emperor of Haiti."
