The decoration of this order consists of an eight-pointed silver star in a double-armed ball. The arms being alternately in blue and garnet enamel resting on a garland of green laurel and surmounted on the upper part by an imperial crown in gold. In the center, on a blue background is a crowned golden eagle standing on two crossed cannons encircled by a red band and this motto : God, my country and my sword ; at the bottom, three small golden stars. On the reverse, a medallion edged with gold; in the center is the emperor's head turned to the right and encircled by a band of red enamel with this caption: Faustin 1st, Emperor of Haiti."
