iciHaiti - Insecurity : President Abinader warns the Dominicans not to go to Haiti

The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, has warned all Dominicans not to visit Haiti due to the insecurity and violence in the neighboring country.

Abinader said they had tightened security in border areas to prevent violence from Haiti from reaching the Dominican Republic, but insisted the Dominicans not go to the other side of the island. "We have warned all citizens not to go to Haiti, because there is no security."

The President also mentioned the fate of certain Dominican truck drivers, kidnapped and detained in Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35066-haiti-security-at-least-49-dominican-truckers-kidnapped-this-year-in-haiti.html ...

Finally, he recalled that at the United Nations, the Dominican Republic had once again requested that Haiti receive international support to face its crisis.
