iciHaiti - Obituaries : Death of the rapper of Haitian origin «Don Karnage» (video)
Don Harley Fils-Aimé alias "Don Karnage", the Montreal rapper of Haitian origin who had known success in the late 1990s died on January 1, 2022 in the morning. In addition to leading a musical career, he was also known for his community involvement and his dedication to young people.

The news was announced by Culture X Musique, a community performing arts training center located in Montreal North that Fils-Aimé had run. As a teacher, he helped young people in difficulty in this Montreal neighborhood through his free music, singing and writing workshops and actively promoted Haitian culture through his Creole language classes.

He had recorded two discs at the turn of the 2000s: Vice-versa in 1999 and Bouge in 2002. “Don Karnage” which had made a name for itself with its clip “Don One” on the airwaves of Musique Plus



Reacting to the news Christine Black, the mayor of the borough of Montreal-North, said she was "[...] deeply saddened by the death of one of the pillars of our community".

Jean-François Roberge the Minister of Education of Quebec praised on Twitter "his exceptional contribution, which has inspired so many young people with his lessons and his art."

Culture X on his Facebook page wrote "For those who had the good fortune to meet him, he was a teacher, a friend, a mentor, a coach, an entrepreneur, a motivator, an artist, a star, a philosopher , an outstanding communicator, a musician, an actor, a producer, a generous being, loved by all."
