iciHaiti - Weekly road report : 27 accidents at least 140 victims
The Haitian organization Technical and Operational Services to Mitigate Accidents (STOP-Accidents), informs us that for the period from March 14 to 20, 2022, 27 accidents on national territory (-12.9% compared to the previous week https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-36189-icihaiti-weekly-road-report-31-accidents-at-least-153-victims.html ) made at least 140 victims (-8.4%): 29 dead ( +31.8%) and 111 injured (-15.2%) including several seriously...

Delmas 40b, Fonds-Verrettes, Lalue and Petit-Goâve (Dept. West), Belladères (Dept. Nippes), Aquin and Camp-Perrin (Dept. South), Cap-Haitien (Dept. North) and Fort Liberté (Dept. Nord-Est) are the main municipalities and areas where these accidents were recorded.

Let's recall that this assessment was carried out in partnership with the National Ambulance Center (CAN) and the Haitian Red Cross (CRH).

However, due to a lack of sufficient financial resources, STOP-Accident is unable to monitor the state of health of the injured, some of whom die as a result of their injuries and are not counted.

STOP-Accidents reiterates its call for caution on our roads and urges the Government to strengthen prevention measures and set up a systematic vehicle inspection service. In addition, the Organization invites road users to behave responsibly to reduce the risk of accidents.
