Émmelie Prophet Milcé the Minister of Culture learns with pain the sad departure of the Haitian singer, Yanick Etienne, who died in Florida of cancer, Wednesday March 30, 2022, at the age of 64.

"It is a great loss for Haitian music and for the country to see the diva Yanick Etienne, VIP of Radio Canal plus Haiti, leave so soon.

Yanick Etienne, the voice of "Mistè Lanmou", began her career in 1979, where she rubbed shoulders with many artists and musical groups of her time including : Jose Tavernier, Austin Tuitt, Tabou Combo, Ti Manno to name a few. .

Coming from a family of artists who emigrated to the United States in the 1970s, Yanick Etienne, singer and vocalist, was one of the most beautiful voices in Haitian song.

Minister Emmelie Prophet Milcé bows before the mortal remains of this great lady who rocked with her voice, several generations, young and old, nationally and internationally.
