Thursday, April 7, 2022, following an alert from the Intelligence and Operations Center, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) intervened to prevent the kidnapping of a citizen at the corner of Street Lamarre and avenue John Brown.

One of the kidnappers was fatally shot in exchanges of fire with the police while 3 other accomplices fled, abandoning a Jeep Wrangler that the kidnappers had stolen for the purposes of the kidnapping. One or more of these accomplices were injured according to witnesses.

An AR15 assault rifle, a Taurus pistol, TFW 22028 series, a CS-type tear gas canister and 44 5.56 caliber ammunition were seized during this police intervention.

It should be noted that for several weeks, the PNH, thanks to the reinforcement of the systems put in place, has already defeated several kidnapping attempts, in particular in Tabarre and Lafiteau.
